Founder, Hops

“I’m not a techy, I don’t think I’ll “get” your app. Think we’ll stick to the spreadsheet.”
Sure, but get this: I’m not an accountant, yet the app we use means I can run the books.
Back in the day, we used Sage 50: → We needed a consultant just to set it up → A bookkeeper to run it → And a prayer to understand the reports
Then I moved to Xero and suddenly it just… made sense.
Because the UX was designed for people like me: people without economic degrees who just wanted to understand the numbers.
Why, oh WHY, must we make tools so bloody complicated?! 😂
Most tools are built by devs, not operators.
So with Hops, we wanted to build something that GMs and chefs could ACTUALLY use without months of training or a manual the size of the Yellow Pages.
Or a consultant on £70k+ bleeding out your margins.
Hops is built on the ethos that tech should enable, not exclude.
And if the people on the ground can’t use it, it’s a liability to your operation.
